Luke is a third year EngD research engineer working within the Centre for Digital Entertainment (CDE) and the department of Computer Science. Luke has a strong multi-disciplinary background stemming from a BSc in Sound Design from London South Bank University where he focused on the development of novel interfaces for performance; and an MSc in Creative Technology at The University of the West of England where he explored HCI, user experience, and interaction and multisensory environments.
His research now focuses on developing sophisticated technologies for enhancing perceptions of immersion within multisensory environments. Luke’s ongoing research project, supervised by Professor Jason Alexander (University of Bath) and Professor Mike Fraser (University of Bristol), examines the use of acoustics (ultrasonics) as a method for introducing olfactory stimuli (smell) to virtual reality environments.
Luke is currently seeking opportunities for collaborative research so as to increase the potential impact of this research.
